We entertain a lot, especially at the holidays. For the special family gatherings I really like to use some of our older, nicer dishes that my grandmother had given me. But they are delicate so they have to be hand-washed. While I try to hand dry them when I can, it’s also nice to be able to have a decent dish rack to dry them on so I can spend more time with company. I spent an afternoon last week looking for some new side dish recipes. I just get tired of making the same few things every once in a while. Every time I do this, we try quite a few dishes that we don’t like all that much and we find one real keeper. This go around the Italian Beans and Rice recipe was a definite keeper. I loved how easy it was to put together and my family just gobbled it up. It’s definitely going to be a regular on our dinner menu from now on. I think next time I’ll add some cooked chicken to it and turn it into a filling main dish. I bet that would be yummy.
